Use the Cohort Discovery tool to identify partners with participants suitable for your trial. Set pre-screening criteria and search across multiple data sets to estimate participant numbers that match your needs.

Access and submit an enquiry to our Pre-Screen for Trial service. After searching using our Cohort Discovery tool, this service assists clinical trial teams in identifying, contacting, and inviting suitable participants for screening assessments and advancing to the recruitment stage of your trial.

The Trials Pre-Screening service helps clinical trial teams identify individuals who are likely to be eligible for their studies. It supports key trial activities such as feasibility assessments, site selection, and participant identification. The service supports pre-screening and outreach to relevant individuals via our partners, helping streamline recruitment and improve enrolment efficiency.
The service is suitable for professionals working in both academic and industry-sponsored trials, including those at Clinical Research Organisations (CROs), trial managers, and site staff such as study coordinators and clinical project managers.
No, this service is currently only available for phase 3 and 4 dementia related research trials.
Your trial should have NHS Research Ethics Committee (REC) approval or equivalent and appropriate funding.
Using the service involves two steps: 1. Assess numbers of potential participants using the automated Cohort Discovery tool to explore and define the group that matches your trial criteria (you will need to sign up for access), 2. Submit an enquiry to Accelerator team who will work with the appropriate partner organisations, to support the next steps in communicating with and recruiting eligible individuals.
We aim to respond to valid enquiries within 5 working days.
The pre-screening to understand potential participant counts by cohort partner, using our Cohort Discovery tool is free of charge. The service to support clinical trial teams to identify and invite participants for further screening and potential recruitment to their trial is currently in a pilot phase where we are gauging level of interest and types of request. We encourage you to submit your request to us for discussion and feedback. We plan to have a commercial model available for this at the beginning of 2026.
